How it Started

Founder Samantha Govender began in property maintenance doing what most people overlook, the minor repairs, the small fixes, the jobs that larger companies don’t prioritise. What she noticed quickly was that the real gap wasn’t in finding someone to do the work. It was in finding someone who would manage it properly. Contractors who quoted and disappeared. Jobs that got logged but never resolved. Property owners left to follow up on work they were already paying someone else to handle.

That observation led to Eminence. Established in 2022, Samantha formalised the business around a model built on accountability rather than just availability. The name has changed since those early days of minor repair work. The commitment to following through hasn't.

Samantha brings fifteen years of experience in property and maintenance to the business, not in a single narrow function, but across the full range of what keeping a property operational actually requires. That breadth matters. A maintenance partner who understands plumbing, electrical faults, roofing, garden services, inspections, and insurance claims doesn't need to outsource their thinking. They can assess a situation, make a call, and get the right person on site.

The Team

Samantha is supported by Wesley Govender, Maintenance Manager, who brings over ten years of hands-on experience overseeing residential and commercial properties. Wesley manages the day-to-day coordination of maintenance work across Eminence’s portfolio, the contractor relationships, the job scheduling, the on-site supervision that determines whether work actually gets done to standard. His experience across both residential and commercial properties means nothing about a maintenance situation catches him off guard.

Together, they run a small, focused operation by design. Not because the business lacks ambition, but because accountability gets harder to maintain as teams grow and communication chains lengthen. Every client has direct access to the people actually responsible for their property.

How We Operate

Three values govern everything Eminence does, and they’re worth stating plainly because most companies in this industry claim them without living them.

The first is accountability and transparency. Every maintenance action, every financial decision, every piece of correspondence is handled openly, with trustees, owners, and residents kept informed at every stage. There are no surprises in a bill and no excuses when something goes wrong. If it happened on our watch, we own it.

The second is proactive maintenance. Reactive maintenance, fixing things after they break, is the most expensive way to run a property. We conduct regular inspections, identify issues before they escalate, and schedule preventative work that saves significant money over time. A R3,000 roof repair caught early is not a R30,000 structural repair avoided late.

The third is respect for community living. A complex is not just a collection of units. It's a community of people who share space, share resources, and share a stake in how the property is run. We treat residents, trustees, staff, and contractors with consistency and fairness, because a well-functioning complex depends on relationships, not just maintenance schedules.

What We Won't Compromise On

Samantha is direct about this: poor service and delayed action are not tolerated. A maintenance issue or resident complaint that sits unresolved is a failure of the operation, not an acceptable outcome. Everything gets handled, promptly and professionally.

The same applies to financial transparency. Every cost is documented. There are no hidden charges, no inflated contractor rates, no unexplained deductions. Trustees and property owners see exactly where their money goes. That’s not a selling point. It’s a basic requirement that Eminence treats as non-negotiable.

What Makes Us Different

Eminence offers the first month of service at no charge. Not as a promotional tactic, but as a genuine demonstration of confidence in how we work. If, after that first month, a client isn’t satisfied, we’ll offer a full refund. We don’t charge call-out fees for maintenance quotations either, because transparency shouldn’t start only after a contract is signed.

The clients who have worked with Eminence the longest describe the relationship simply: outstanding service, with follow-up every time. That’s not a complicated promise. It’s just one that most property maintenance companies fail to keep.

WhatsApp us to talk about your property. First month free. No obligation before you're ready.
